Help viewers replace a narrow understanding of an idea with a broader one. The familiar headline and old definition appear first, the old definition is struck through, then that group clears. A large context photograph rises into view with the new definition and up to four supporting terms. This 6.8-second graphic stages a change in meaning rather than deriving a definition automatically.
What you get
A local generator, editable HyperFrames reframing scene and motion/review instructions for a 1920×1080, 30 fps segment. The package supplies the project tools and illustrative material; generate and render your own explanation from them.
headline, oldDefinition, newDefinition and relatedTerms, plus a required contextImage raster slot with a bundled default. Text remains editable; the photograph provides context behind the final explanation rather than replacing it with flattened lettering.
Old-definition entrance from 0.16 seconds, strike from 0.90 seconds and full clearing from 1.72 to 1.97 seconds. The image rises from 1.93 seconds, the new definition arrives from 2.28 seconds and peripheral terms enter from 3.05 seconds. The final reading state holds without the rejected copy underneath.
Four styles keep the same data and choreography: White & Yellow (white-yellow), Charcoal & Lime (charcoal-lime), Paper & Orange (paper-orange), and Black & White (midnight-ice). Semantic style overrides are supported; check contrast after changing them. Dark canvases use a fine grid. Local fonts include Inter, IBM Plex Mono for measurements and ordinals, Smiley Sans and Noto Sans SC. Chinese text selects Smiley Sans automatically, including accompanying Latin text; --zh-font noto-sans-sc selects Noto Sans SC, while --font takes precedence for a supplied font.
Before you choose
Use the supporting terms to explain what the broader definition adds. Select a context image with a clear relationship to that change, and check that viewers can distinguish the rejected idea from the settled meaning without narration.
Good fit
A creator challenging an overly narrow label and explaining a more useful interpretation.
A short teaching passage with a concise old/new distinction and a relevant visual context.
A series of concept explanations needing consistent staging, short supporting labels and typography.
Not for
Automatically researching definitions, proving a disputed interpretation or treating an illustrative photograph as factual evidence.
A long essay, more than four visible supporting terms, or a persistent side-by-side comparison of the old and new definitions.
Automatic full-film editing, generated presenter performances or music, or copying another creator’s identity and source materials.
How to use
You say/creatormotion-type-definition-reframe Turn my supplied explanation into a white-yellow B-roll scene using the Definition Reframe effect. Use the text, data and media I provide, and ask for any required input that is missing.
Prepare the familiar headline, a short oldDefinition and a concise newDefinition. Add up to four relatedTerms that explain the broader meaning rather than repeating decorative keywords. The sample learning terminology is illustrative, not a researched definition of your subject.
Reuse the bundled contextImage or replace that exact slot through --images MAP.json with a local raster. Relative paths resolve beside the map; unspecified defaults remain. Follow the image policy and choose a crop that supports the idea without competing with the definition.
Keep the first headline and both definitions within their large display hierarchy. The headline anchors the initial meaning, but the entire old group clears before the final state. Supporting terms occupy fixed peripheral positions; extra array entries beyond the first four are not shown. No presenter or alpha matte is required.
From the extracted package, prepare Node.js 22+, FFmpeg and HyperFrames CLI 0.8.30. Run node scripts/create.mjs --out PROJECT --data CONTENT.json --style white-yellow, substituting another documented palette if wanted. Read the motion specification and image policy before adapting the scene; use semantic --overrides for deliberate style changes. Add --images MAP.json only when replacing the default context photograph.
Inspect the editable project at entry, each motion handoff and final hold, then render with the command printed by the generator. Check the resulting frames for text collisions, correct numbers and readable contrast. Keep at least 1.2 seconds for the final reading when editing, and compare all four palettes with identical content after structural changes. Narration, music and assembly into a longer film remain separate work. Check that the old definition disappears fully, the new wording remains readable over its solid backing, and supporting terms avoid collisions. The rounded image deliberately extends below the frame; that designed crop does not excuse clipping a label.

FAQ
Yes. headline, oldDefinition, newDefinition and relatedTerms come from JSON, with four palettes and semantic overrides. The current scene displays only the first four related terms.
No presenter video is needed. A real raster contextImage is required by the scene, and a bundled illustrative default is available. Supply a local image map only when replacing it.
Yes. Preserve the old-definition strike, complete clearance, rising image and separate final reading state. Re-render after changes; leaving ghost copy beneath the replacement confuses the intended distinction.
It anchors the opening, but the current implementation removes the full old group before the replacement state. Older high-level wording about a persistent headline should not be read as a final-screen guarantee.
The package offers illustrative defaults and renders your replacements. You still need to choose a relevant image and justify the conceptual change; the animation does not verify those claims.
