Give viewers the larger plan before showing where to begin. Three roadmap columns populate with numbered substeps, then the camera pushes toward the first column, replaces its heading and accents the first action. This seven-second effect turns a supplied overview into a starting point; it does not generate a plan or choose the next action for you.
What you get
A local generator, editable effect implementation and motion/review instructions. Generate a 1920×1080 HyperFrames composition and render it at 30 fps as one segment for a larger production.
Up to three levels with a title and up to three items each, plus a focusHeading for the closer view. Dark headers, connector spines and numbered substeps keep the hierarchy visible.
Substeps populate from 0.35 seconds, followed by a camera push at 2.40–3.12 seconds, heading replacement and a first-action accent at 3.45 seconds. The focus is fixed on the first column and first item, rather than selected by a content field.
Four palettes keep the motion consistent: White & Yellow (white-yellow), Charcoal & Lime (charcoal-lime), Paper & Orange (paper-orange) and Black & White (midnight-ice). Semantic overrides adapt the styling; recheck contrast after changes. Dark palettes include a fine static grid. Fonts are bundled locally: Inter, IBM Plex Mono for measurements and ordinals, and Smiley Sans/Noto Sans SC for Chinese. Chinese copy automatically selects Smiley Sans, including Latin text in the same composition; --zh-font noto-sans-sc selects the plainer alternative and --font embeds your own face. Inspect wrapping again after changing fonts.
Before you choose
Choose this when a plan needs a clear entry point. Write the final focused action first, then build only the surrounding levels needed to explain its context; an elaborate map adds little if viewers cannot tell where to start.
Good fit
A creator explaining a learning or working roadmap and then introducing its first actionable step.
A short lesson with three concise levels and a small set of substeps, where a broad-to-specific transition helps orient the viewer.
A recurring series needing consistent roadmap structure, motion and typography.
Not for
Automatically generating or validating a plan, adapting a roadmap from live project data, or automatically selecting a different focus target.
A chapter numeral followed by a vertical stack, or a large freely expanding mind map. This composition starts with multiple columns and moves into the first.
Automatic film assembly, generated presenter performance or soundtrack, or copying another creator’s identity and footage.
How to use
You say/creatormotion-cards-roadmap-focus Turn my supplied explanation into a white-yellow B-roll scene using the Roadmap Focus Push effect. Use the text, data and media I provide, and ask for any required input that is missing.
Prepare levels as title/items objects, with up to three levels and three items per level. Supply focusHeading as the clearer action-oriented wording for the first level. The sample Start/Build/Deepen roadmap is illustrative, so replace it with your own structure.
Put the action you intend to discuss first in levels[0].items[0]. The camera and accent target are fixed in this version; changing list order changes the target content, while selecting another column requires implementation work.
Keep headings and substeps concise. The focused heading is positioned beneath the retained LEVEL 1 line, and the push deliberately reframes the wider map. Inspect the actual result rather than assuming every long title fits. No presenter take, cutout or raster image is needed.
Prepare Node.js 22+, FFmpeg and the documented HyperFrames CLI 0.8.30. From the extracted package, run node scripts/create.mjs --out PROJECT --data CONTENT.json, adding --style or semantic --overrides as needed. The shared --images option replaces named slots with paths relative to the image-map file; unlisted slots retain defaults, although this particular composition uses editable text/geometry without active raster slots. Read the image policy before adding visual materials.
Inspect the editable project and render with npx --yes hyperframes@0.8.30 render PROJECT --output VIDEO.mp4 --fps 30 --quality high --strict. Watch the opening, each major change and the final reading hold for text bounds, contrast and clipping. Narration, music and assembly with other shots remain separate editing work. Watch the heading replacement and selected action after the push. Confirm that the first-level line, focusHeading and substep do not overlap, and that the tighter framing still explains where the action belongs.

FAQ
Yes. Supply levels and focusHeading in JSON, select a palette or use semantic overrides. Three columns and three substeps per column are the current visible limits; additional entries are ignored.
No. This roadmap uses editable typography, connectors and shapes. Generic package instructions about presenter video, mattes and generated image replacements are not requirements for this scene.
Yes. Preserve the overview, camera push toward the first level, heading change and selected action. Re-render after editing timing, fonts or framing; deliberate camera cropping does not excuse unreadable foreground labels.
There is no focus-index input. The implementation pushes toward the first column and accents its first item. Reorder the content or deliberately adjust the target and camera in code.
It should help viewers understand the action they are about to take, while staying consistent with the first level and first substep. A new unrelated heading would break the overview-to-detail relationship.
